Zisk, Haynes promoted to associate professors at law school

AUG. 15, 2007 - - Two educators at the Charleston School of Law have been promoted to become associate professors, Dean Richard Gershon announced today.

"We're fortunate to have high-quality professors like Nancy Zisk and Allyson Haynes at the Charleston School of Law," Gershon said. "Both bring practical experience and a zeal for helping students better understand the law."

  • Nancy Zisk becomes an associate professor who teaches torts. She also serves as associate dean for academic affairs at the school. Zisk, named "professor of the year" by the school's students in 2006, joined the school in 2004 after practicing employment and complex insurance coverage litigation with two leading Washington, D.C., firms. She earned her bachelor's degree and law degree from Duke University.

  • Allyson Haynes, who teaches contracts, civil procedure and information privacy law, also has been named an associate professor. Haynes joined the school in 2004 after serving as a director of the legal department of Sony Corporation. She has a law degree from the University of South Carolina and a bachelor's degree from Duke University. Her most recent publication was Online Privacy Policies: Contracting Away Control Over Personal Information?, 111 Penn. St. L. Rev. 587 (2007).
