Noted professor Schwartz hired by law school
Michael H. Schwartz will move here from respected California law school

MARCH 29, 2005 - - Prof. Michael H. Schwartz, a nationally-known expert on issues in law school teaching, will join the faculty of the Charleston School of Law in August, Dean Richard Gershon announced today.

"We're honored to have a professor of Michael Schwartz's stature to become a part of the Charleston School of Law," Gershon said. "His expertise in learning theory and instructional design will allow the School to continue to grow and offer the best possible legal education for our students."

Schwartz, who currently is director of the Western State University College of Law's "STELLAR" law student program, teaches courses in contracts, remedies, expert learning for law students and insurance law. He also is author of "Expert Learning for Law Students" (2003) and numerous law review articles.

Prior to becoming a professor, Schwartz worked in Orange County, California, and Los Angeles-area law firms in the areas of contracts, insurance, construction and entertainment litigation.
