CHARLESTON, S.C., Aug. 1, 2005 - - The Charleston School of Law
has been selected by the Federal Magistrate Judges Association
to publish the print copy of the Federal Courts Law Review, according
to the Association president, U.S. Magistrate Judge Karen K. Klein
of Fargo, N.D.
"We're excited that students from the Charleston School
of Law will be assisting the federal judges and academicians who
will continue to edit our online law review and that the school
will coordinate the print publication of the law review,"
Klein said. "Not only is it a great opportunity for students
to get first-hand experience working with federal judges across
the nation, but it provides our organization a home for our print
edition."
The Federal Courts Law Review, currently published online, will
offer its first print publication in early 2006, Klein said. Charleston
law students will be selected based upon grades and legal writing
skills for the opportunity to serve as editors for the review
which can be found online at www.fclr.org.
"We're thrilled that our students will be able to work with
judges throughout the country," said Charleston School of
Law Assistant Professor Allyson Haynes, who will serve as faculty
coordinator. "This is another example of how our school is
growing in what we're offering to students and in its stature
in the legal community."
