ACCREDITATION UPDATE
July 2006

  • The School applied for provisional approval in the fall of 2005.

  • A site evaluation team appointed by the ABA visited the School in the fall of 2005 and filed its report.

  • The ABA Accreditation Committee considered the School's application in April 2006 and recommended that the School be granted provisional approval.

  • The Council of the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar considered the School's application in June 2006 and concluded that the School needed to provide additional information before a determination could be made as to whether the School meets the requirements for provisional approval.

  • The Council deferred action on the School's application and remanded the matter to the Accreditation Committee for further consideration and directed that fact-finders be appointed to visit the School early in the Fall 2006 term to report the requested additional information.

  • The ABA plans to send those fact-finders reasonably early in the month of September and will seek to have the School's application considered by the Accreditation Committee at its meeting of October 26- 28, 2006, and by the Council at its meeting of December 2-3, 2006.
