Recent graduate and Holly Hill native to work
in programming, outreach
MARCH 19, 2008 -- Recent Charleston School of Law graduate Reagan
S. Flemming has joined the school's Office of Diversity Initiatives
as its first fellow, director John L.S. Simpkins announced today.
"Reagan's commitment to Lowcountry communities as well as
her energy and creativity make her supremely qualified to serve
as a "pioneer" in this new and exciting position,"
Simpkins said. "She will greatly enhance the work of our
office."
Simpkins said the fellowship was designed to introduce recent
law school graduates to potential careers in diversity management
in academic and practice settings.
"Over the next 18 months, Reagan will be involved in the
development of programming and community outreach in the Office
of Diversity Initiatives," he said. "This will include,
among other things, working with local middle schools, high schools,
colleges and universities to encourage members of underrepresented
groups to consider legal careers."
Flemming, who grew up in Holly Hill and attended the S.C. Governor's
School for Arts and Humanities, is a 2007 graduate of the Charleston
School of Law. She received her bachelor's degree from Furman
University in 2001.
